A while ago a lovely German man appeared at our church. He came a few times to look around during our Saturday opening hours, before asking if the piano abandoned in the corner worked.
I told him it was horrendously out of tune, and the cathedral piano tuner had deemed it not worth sorting out.

A successful #RepairWeek #RepairCafe session last weekend!
On my @suttonrepaircafe.co.uk bench this month:
Inkjet printer - mostly restored (yellow still a little blocked!)
Food waste bin - handle reattached
Laptop motherboard - new power socket soldered on
Kitchen aid motor controller - inductor replaced
CD Player - lens cleaned
Table lamp - reassembled!

There was a long queue to the repair shop. There always seemed to be, these days.
The areas for fabrics and fibre, wood, metal, mechanics and electronics were all busy, but none more so than the dreams section.
"Oh, this has taken some beating, poor thing."

Bad news for phone and tablet repairability I'm afraid
❌ Bad news, however, for batteries of smartphones and tablets - for these products, Ecodesign will prevail over the Batteries Regulation, allowing for an important exemption from battery removability and replaceability rules!
