Preview of our autumn concert for charity on Sunday. The theme is French composers, including a piece by a local living composer where I have a microscopic 2nd flute solo! On the other hand, I'm still struggling with Bizet (L'Arlésienne) at full speed... #Harmonie #WindOrchestra #AmateurMusic

The latest installment of my favourite game #Anno came out on my birthday. It took forever to download because our internet connection is rubbish and in any case all the offspring plus small grandson were here (way more important), but I'm looking foward to failing lamentably in easy mode tomorrow ☺️

Small grandson came back from helping to walk the dog in the woods with a couple of additions to the stick park outside the front door, a pocket full of acorns, and a very small manky apple - it's like we've gone back 20+ years. 🙄

Transcribing #Stockport #WWI war memorials for my website, and St John's Methodist (Cheadle Heath) has the 2nd verse of "For all the saints" as an epitaph. Proper earworm for a Sunday School kid, so how many of the 8 verses can I remember? #Genealogy #LocalHistory

#LochArkaig osprey Breac (7P7) flying over Cantabria on the north coast of Spain on August 30th when he was 97 days old. Last seen in Lochaber on August 15th!

One of my #WWI soldiers from #Stockport claimed an invalidity pension in 1918 for muscular weakness in his right arm (which the army acknowledged). He attributed it to his obligatory vaccinations (which the army unsurprisingly rejected). Plus ça change...
