On Wednesday (19 March), Cabinet Members will review the Council’s annual Local Transport Plan, which sets out spending on Swindon’s roads in the next year.

Cabinet will consider proposed spending of £1.5m on resurfacing several major roads and £1.2m on maintaining a number of minor roads.

A proposal for hourly rail services between Oxford, Swindon & Bristol is being backed by SBC, MPs & regional transport bodies.

Subject to approval from Govt, the new service could start as early as next year, building on GWR's successful weekend trial that started in Sept 2024.

The £918m transformation of one of the UK’s largest brownfield developments in Swindon is rapidly progressing on the former Honda site.

Work on the largest industrial unit is due to start in the Spring & interest in the site from firms who want to invest and relocate to Swindon is strong.

New plans to invest £250m into the Council's housing stock over the next five years 🏠

New school places for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 🏫

We remember the millions who were murdered in the Holocaust, other victims of Nazi persecution and those who died in subsequent genocides.

Storm Darragh kept the tree maintenance team busy over the weekend.🌲

Sadly two large Spruce trees, located in front of the cottage in the Coate Water car park, fell as a result of the strong winds.

The team removed the fallen trees, made the area safe and will now set about repairing any damage

⚽ a floodlit all-weather pitch
🌿 grass pitches
🏠 a pavilion with changing rooms (and potentially a community space and café)
