I hadn't looked either, as we were salty over one of the puzzles having been broken by an earlier group. We spent quite some time trying on it, and the staff member had to use boltcutters.

We had a rough guess how much time we'd spent, and that got us on the board. Victory!

If it's one I think it is, I was there recently for a bucks night, and our group photo may have been on the trophy wall.

(I'm glad Nate had fun and look forward to GMing for him next Pheno.)

You've got the casting part right. Not sure if it counts as a me game, given the number of contributors so far. :)

I'd been idly contemplating a pirate freeform post Pheno, but I soon realised I didn't have a plot other than 'I want to dress up', & 'Let's dress as Pirates: The Freeform' might not be enough.

I'll say it again: I want a tailor outside a cinema, so I can walk in after a film and go "I'd like these items from the film I just saw, please measure me and give me a quote."

It also means I'd rarely have any money, but my wardrobe would love it. #cosplay

Looks cute, I'm tempted (Am I missing a reference?)

Working all weekend, possibly working all next weekend as well. Bracing myself for customers, and likely to regret not taking a #larp sword with me.
David Tennant (From Good Omens), looking nervous, with the words "Oh fuck" nearby.

Yep.

I said, "If they didn't change after Sandy Hook", but was mercifully distracted by someone who actually bought something, and he left.

His main issue/fear was
*child knocks on door*
*gun shot*
Which, mercifully, we have less of here.

(He's less needing help than another regular who seems to think the Force is real, based on how he talks about it.)

Semi-regular customer asked me what I thought of Halloween. I'm neutral.

He's against it, as it's, according to him, the day most children die in America, and thus we're endorsing that.

Glad he left soon after.

I'm hoping for an angry rebuke from McCoy himself.

(Also reminds me of Aus 'politician' George Christensen, but ignorance is bliss on that front)

No worries on it. Feedback is like a bad playtest, it can feel awful but makes for a better product. And be glad you weren't in the playtest session, it was fucking awful.

Not sure what the other thing you mentioned was, but feel free to shoot me a message on it.

And moments like this are why I dread reading game feedback...

(Since the writer may read this, I appreciate it and I know it was meant well.)

How long have you got?
swordgav.bsky.social
I'm not a Writer Wrangler, but I'll be expecting to see that pitched for next Pheno. :)

That works! Also, choose the prop!

Rope
Dagger
Cudgel
False Mustache
Lock Picks
Lipstick/poison
Magic Wand

I want each PC to have a different style, and that will help. Choose a prop, run the prelude, and then give the old PC sheets out.

Rescuing them, as they have the artefact you need is a thought.

Opening cut scene being the young team getting captured, then we go to the oldies is appealing. Just need to cut down PC choice time, or run that first.

Thought: It's actually a prison, and you've been mind fucked into thinking it's a retirement home.

Bleak, but less bleak than my wife's idea for one of the PC's having dementia and constantly thinking they're young again.

Elderly thief game thoughts:
Is the escape the main part, or prologue?
What do they need? A quest is a possible, but 1 session leaves time constraints.
Just wanting to see the sun before they die is a bit bleak.
Bubba-Hotep is an inspiration, but I don't want to remake it.

I'm very glad to hear that, I wasn't sure by the end of things. That's on me, not you to be clear.

Not sure what prompted the narration, but it seemed to work.
