the dumb thing is i'm not even sure they did anything actually legally enforceable besides false advertising (i'd have to check the lease to be sure whether it actually said in writing anywhere that this was a legalized suite or not), they ARE allowed to just rent it this way, it's just annoying lol

legally speaking I'm pretty sure I'm just paying for a lock on my door, separate appliances, and split utilities in someone else's basement. like my upstairs neighbors are technically just roommates I rarely talk to who control the thermostat

hey did I mention I found out recently that they literally lied to me when I rented this place? this isn't actually a legalized suite, my basement apartment isn't registered as a separate unit address with the city and I've actually been sharing my mailbox with the upstairs neighbors this whole time

it just randomly does this during the cold months and stops doing it in the summer. no idea where it'd be leaking from, and it was already full of water when I moved in (during January last year). property management just emailed the previous tenant and got the spin tip from her, and that was it lol

ooh we've apparently gotten to the part of the year where a mysterious pool of (clean) water inexplicably spawns in the bottom of my washing machine drum every week and has to be drained via running a Spin cycle preset on "No Spin" before I can do laundry. that's how you REALLY know autumn is here 🍂

I can't believe everyone in the world isn't playing or replaying SLARPG simultaneously right now. one might ask "well why not? what's wrong with them?? they SHOULD be!" but it's much easier to assume the game is probably a grift somehow and all its glowing reviews and loving fans are fakes

there aren't a lot of times i'd actively WANT to get jumpscared by a phonecall from the CRA confirming/correcting an oversight in my tax filing for last year and then also having me register a business number on the spot. but right before bed when i've been awake for 21 hours is VERY low on the list

i SO deeply and unironically want to own that stupid zelda water temple shower curtain. i am not joking in the slightest. the more i think about it the better it gets. can you IMAGINE someone coming over to visit and you just get to casually wait until the first time they get up to use your bathroom
