UK weather: Yellow heat health alert extended for parts of England

A yellow heat health alert continues across London until 18 August.

City Hall is taking action to boost our city's resilience to rising temperatures, inc. planting 600,000 trees, installing 4000+ free water refill points & adding to the Cool Spaces Map.

A thunderstorm warning is also in place for large swathes of Scotland.

🟡Temperatures are predicted to approach 30°C this week, and a yellow heat health alert has been issued for London.

I’m working closely with partners to ensure vulnerable people are protected from the heat, including councils providing emergency support to rough sleepers. bit.ly/3JbZqhQ
