One of my favourite episodes of Blowing Cartridges yet! I highly recommend giving it a listen (in my obviously unbiased opinion) to hear us discuss the nuances of video game/console pricing in the current climate of 2025

We were delighted to be joined by @gibbogame.bsky.social of MST Financial for our latest episode to talk through the current gaming discourse over the price of games and consoles. It was a fascinating hearing Gibbo share his insights from an investment perspective

We generally stay away from “news” style episodes that date themselves pretty quickly, but @eggmond.bsky.social and I couldn’t say no to discussing all things related to the latest Nintendo console!

Perhaps somewhat late to the party, but on this episode, joined by @switchingitup.bsky.social, we dove into and discussed all things related to the Switch 2 Direct!

It was great to reminisce about the Nintendo DS with @eggmond.bsky.social & the great @chocobalt.bsky.social!

Apologies for the audio quality - there were some issues stemming from me forgetting to plug my mic into my laptop 🤦‍♂️ (I blame the flu I was battling whilst recording)

I think this is the first episode inspired by my mum sending a message to the family group chat - in this instance it was “did you know The Sims is 25 years old”. I assume I have Australian morning TV to thank.

The next day. As an Australian, coupled with online communities, it really made you feel like part of a global community of video game enthusiasts. E3 was ‘Gamer Christmas’, and while the lustre was arguably long gone, I don’t see anything replaced it #E3memories (2)

The news of the death of E3 is unsurprisingly, yet nonetheless saddening. I have a lot of nostalgic memories of avidly watching E3 presentations in my late high school/early uni days, both from staying up till the early hours of the morning or scouring the internet for news (1)
