The Church is not to be found at the “center” of a left/right political world.

The Church is to be a species of its own kind, confounding both left and right, and finding its identity from the "center" of God’s life.

"Harvey" turns 75 this weekend! I wrote this little piece in tribute. Special thanks to my editor, @opus.ing, who gave it a quick turnaround after I turned it in late. 😊 #TCMParty
For 75 years, “Harvey”—starring Jimmy Stewart as a man whose best friend is a big white invisible rabbit—has been fondly remembered as a gentle, whimsical tale.

However, @ginadalfonzo.bsky.social reveals that there’s more to the film than fans might realize.

Trump exploited the Reiners’ murder to trash them and brag about himself. No warmth, no sympathy, just self-aggrandizement. The hill Trump devotees climb to tout Trump as making America great and restoring Christian values to our country just got even steeper.

Although Trump’s abhorrent political beliefs are ultimately more damaging to the nation, his reprehensible personality is more shocking to me on a personal level.

I can’t fathom how anyone can support someone who is so obviously a terrible human being.

Elections have consequences. A man like this never belonged near the levers of power. Not the first time. And certainly not this second time when everything was knowable. We are trapped in a tragedy and must fight our way out.
