Being a journalist in Georgia means being under the threat of physical violence, and media outlets are also subjected to repression and financial pressure. Now Shalva Papuashvili is threatening us with even worse.

Propaganda TV channel Imedi aired a story accusing Georgian online media, repressed by the GD, of being an “underground network” that hinders the country’s progress.

This shot shows an Imedi propagandist Anuki Gumbaridze at the door of iFact’s head Nino Bakradze.

Today marks 22 years since the Rose Revolution - the day that reshaped Georgia for the better and saved the country, at least for my generation. I will be forever grateful and will continue to fight for its values.

This isn’t even funny. I’m tired.
Protester Vano Skhirtladze was arrested on Nov 20. At today’s trial, police confirmed that the reason for his arrest was “a squeaky toy.” “He was walking toward the police and making noise in their faces, which is really offensive,” the police officer said.

Russian Dream is depriving citizens of Georgia of their right to vote.
1/ The Anti-Corruption Bureau was established as part of a priority task set by the European Commission for granting Georgia EU candidate status.
🚨 GD is abolishing the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Personal Data Protection Service. The functions of both agencies will be fully transferred to the State Audit Service.

I love how the flag of Ukraine is always there along with flags of Georgia and the EU.

The police are not allowing the protesters to block the road. They are not even permitted to cross the zebra crossing. Now, the protesters are marching through the narrow streets, shouting protest slogans.

I visited Brussels with colleagues from Georgian online media. It was a busy, important, and emotional trip, full of off-the-record meetings about Georgia’s political situation and future.

And It crushes me to see us losing our chance to be part of Europe because of an oligarch.

There’s no way for Georgian Dream to continue like this forever. This is a test of nerves and endurance. The one who endures the longest will win and I am sure, it will be us. Just a little more.
1/ Because he crossed Rustaveli Avenue in protest, police have arrested Giorgi Tsikarishvili, former head of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Department of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Today, Nino Datashvili was released on bail. She had difficulty walking and was crying from the pain. Her health condition had worsened in prison, and she now needs two surgeries. This situation could have been prevented, but at least she is no longer in prison.

It’s very difficult to attend the Rustaveli protest every day. It takes a lot of physical and emotional strength. That’s why it isn’t full of people every day. But the protest and the anger are still here, if not grown after all the injustices the GD gov't has inflicted.

Day 333

It’s been 1 year since the parliamentary elections, after which the GD government has not been recognized as legitimate by the West.

Also, Irakli Kobakhidze often says the protest doesn’t exist in Georgia.

Basti is one of the kindest people you could ever meet. And it’s completely absurd that he was detained by mistake.

Irakli Gharibashvili was Bidzina Ivanishvili's favorite person in GD until the last few years.
🚨 The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili with laundering a large amount of illegal money and is demanding bail of 1 million GEL. Gharibashvili will also be deprived of his passport so that he cannot leave the country.

GD hates Rustaveli protest and is doing everything possible to suppress it.
Police forcibly arrested protesters on Rustaveli Avenue for “illegally blocking the road.”

The State Security Service says former MP Irakli Gharibashvili admitted to illegally receiving budget funds for years but will “consider measures” against him since he cooperated with investigators.

Meanwhile, people are jailed for years for doing nothing.

Under the GD government’s repressive law, dozens were detained for blocking Rustaveli Ave, including 76-year-old Giorgi Vachadze. Judge Koba Chagunava gave him a verbal reprimand; a second violation could lead to criminal prosecution.

1/ So, if you are standing on the sidewalk on Rustaveli, you most likely won’t be arrested, but on your way home, the police will search you to see if you have a face mask, including medical masks, that could be used to cover your face.
October 21, 2025 at 8:39 AM
Okay, there was an order, but at least someone should have a little brain and empathy not to scare and oppress an elderly woman. But nooo.
Police are checking citizens leaving a protest on Rustaveli to see if they were wearing masks or any other “illegal” items that could cover their faces. About 20 police officers stopped Aza Adamia, a 70 y/o displaced woman from Abkhazia.
