I did this last election. Was about to fall off the R mailing list and it’s useful to get the mailers for intel and talking points on future elections. Mainly local school board and MUD elections. Ours get spicy cause of the MAGA cult members 😡.

Yes - great education reporting dept. But the stories need to get national attention - we have some of the largest school districts in the country sitting in Texas. HISD, Dallas ISD, CyFair ISD. I swear no one knows how to cover Texas except for local Texas reporters 😡.

CyFair has been getting good articles in the Chronicle but it’s SO HARD to get reporters to do stories.We parents and advocates are constantly contacting reporters and trying desperately for local news stories. Elizabeth Sander has been doing great work on CyFair (THANK YOU) but more needed on HISD

My impression is that President Schovanec is a 40 year educator, not a politician. He was worried about my kiddo and told me multiple times to have son set up a meeting with him and bring some friends - which he will do 👏 🩷. I felt like he does care, but very out of touch with the politics.

Not UT but I’ve got a kiddo at Texas Tech. I’ve been calling and spoke with the Tech President on Thursday. Very nice man, but lower down the totem pole.

Tech is about to put in Texas Senator Brandon Creighton for Chancellor. Author of all the anti public-ed, and hate lege against kids bills 😡.

It’s worth paying attention to the CyFair race. Lots of eyes on it from R politicians since the district is so big. They would love to keep their extremist majority.

Mattress Mack is donating to the Christian Nationalist extremist side - easy 5 figures. Never shop at Gallery Furniture 😡😡😡.

HD 135-Odus Evbagharu running (Jon Rosenthal is current Rep and is running for Railroad Commissioner).

CyFair ISD has its school board election this Nov. 3rd largest district in Texas. 118k+ kids. Cruz, Bettencourt and Oliverson endorse the crazies in our district 😡. LOTS of bad media attention.
