I've crocheted gifts for other people twice so far. The first one has been stuck in customs for almost a month now. The second one is too small to hold my mom's glasses so I had to add a row and now it's a bit deformed. It's like everytime I make an effort something gets twisted up

imo it's the most Reddit designed, generically engineered for rule 34 and horny/milk jokes like some Ganyu on steroids. Or maybe the most Hololive design because two of my mutuals have said she looks like a vtuber instead of a genshin

And before someone comes over, I'm perfectly cool with playing fanservicey waifus if I like them or find them fun. I was an Eula main on my secondary in early game. My favorite DPS in Natlan is fucking Chasca. I do plan to get Mizuki in September since she's anemo and I like her personality

Instead of a cute half shirtless guy in spandex tights with a shy demeanor, they went with THIS after an ongoing record of new women with questionable clothes. This is planned. Sure, you can justify it and like her just fine, but Varesa was engineered and it's a sum of parts giving a bad impression

Honestly, with the small amount we've gotten? This would've been a perfect chance to have the luchador character a male character and tweak the model to give it some visible muscles. The husbando players are getting fed up and this would've been great. (Normal) men would find a buff guy cool as well

(If anything, I always knew the eating competitor character was gonna be thin as hell because this is Genshin and claymore wielders have the noodliest arms ever. The silhouette also told us she was a cow girl with thicker legs too from the get go, so my expectations were low)

I'm not plus sized or Mexican or have melanin so I'm not gonna talk about representation here as it's not my place btw. Just talking about the fanservice and why I think this is getting so much backlash especially from female/genderqueer players

To me (I don't hate it, from the neck up she's cute... but I don't like the outfit) it's the way they had to especifically make the luchadora a woman and give her that kind of attacks right after Mizuki's burst and Natlan female designs going ham. It's a continuation of a fixation on asses/thighs

Of course that in lucha libre the wrestlers wear skimpy clothes and that's normal, and plenty of competitive eaters are slim, but I think people defending the design don't realize that the hate for Varesa's is a culmination of factors that bring up this kind of final result
