I don't currently have anything to promo because I've been spending my days renovating a house instead of TTRPG stuff lately, but I did make two feeds for Bluesky that are probably relevant to your interests if you follow me.

Shameless selfpromo ahead:

I've had great experiences with the Huion tablets too if something you connect to a PC/laptop is an option.

Beyond that I like the Kanban plugins because I like getting Kanban into anything I do. I'm a fan of the Obsidian Git plugin because I like being fully in control of my data.

I've also been playing around with the Teleprompter plugin as I'm starting to get back into content creation.

Windows PowerToys is cool and all, but ye gods, Microsoft, what the fuck is this doing in your documentation?

To add context: this was after they mentioned three perfectly fine ways of installing PowerToys and before mentioning three more after whatever the fuck this was.
An excerpt from Microsoft's documentation on installing Windows PowerToys. It reads:

Ask Copilot for help with command-line arguments

You can get AI assistance from Copilot to generate a winget command with the arguments you need. You can customize the prompt to generate a string per your requirements.

The following text shows an example prompt for Copilot:

Generate a `winget` command to install Microsoft PowerToys with arguments to install silently and log the output to a file at the following path: C:\temp\install.log

Copilot is powered by AI, so surprises and mistakes are possible. For more information, see Copilot FAQs.

I love Obsidian as a self-hosted Notion "replacement". Plus: the sheer amount of plugins you can get for it really tickles the adhd-brain.

If you want a rabbithole I can recommend Awesome Selfhosted too, though a lot of things on there will require having some form of homelab/nas set up.

Patient, sobbing: But Doctor, I AM Pagliacci!
ChatGPT: Apologies. I didn't realise when recommending Pagliacci's epic show to cure your depression that you were the genius himself. I'm impressed! With regards to your initial question, I can recommend seeing the Great Clown Pagliacci.

Oh also, say it with me:

IF 👏 YOU 👏 DON'T 👏 TEST 👏 YOUR 👏 BACKUPS 👏 YOU 👏 DON'T 👏 HAVE 👏 BACKUPS 👏

Test your backups regularly so you don't find out your backup don't work when you actually need it.
tavernaut.bsky.social
Personally, I run scheduled backups to an on-site NAS which syncs to a Backblaze B2 instance, so for me it looks like:

- Three copies: original, nas, b2
- Two media: local, networked storage (and cloud)
- One offsite: B2

This cost me ~40$ per TB once for my NAS and
6$/TB/month for B2 storage.
tavernaut.bsky.social
To add to this: if at all possible when backing up, follow the 3-2-1 rule. For important data you want:

- At least THREE copies
- On at least TWO different types of media
- At least ONE of which is off-site

This can get expensive fast, especially with off-site storage, so triage what is important.

HEY CREATIVES.

HAVE YOU BACKED UP YOUR PROJECT FILES TO 2 PHYSICAL REDUNDANT MEDIUMS LATELY.

YOU REALLY SHOULD DO THAT /TODAY/. THE MOMENT YOU GET A CHANCE.

Hello, BlueSky! 📖🪡

We are StoryWeave Productions, a brand new TTRPG AP channel founded by Jien, Kat, and Wren. We’re thrilled to officially launch and will have some exciting announcements to share soon, so give us a follow and stay tuned for more!
An announcement graphic set on a light blue and purple watercolour-textured background.

The header reads 'Introducing StoryWeave Productions.' The logo, an inkwell with a needle and thread coming out of it and an ink scribble extending from the tip of the needle, sits between 'Story' and 'Weave.'

Below that is smaller text that reads 'A TTRPG Actual Play channel, committed to showcasing diverse and compelling stories, with accessibility and high quality production at the forefront.'

Surrounding those elements are three circular photos connected by a length of glowing purple thread: headshots of JienBirb (@JienBirb, half-Japanese with short reddish-brown hair and glasses), Kat (@LoreMistress93, white with long deep red hair and glasses), and MasqueWren (@MasqueWren, Caribbean with long braided black hair)

The bottom left is a list of social media handles (StoryWeave on BlueSky, StoryWeaveProductions on Twitch, storyweaveprod@gmail.com).

The bottom right reads 'More Details Soon...'

Oh, also if the project is SAG affiliated, but I think that might be more of an Audio Drama thing, and less an Actual Play thing.
