I agree with this 100%. I've never felt like a product was being jammed down my throat like genAI, even though I've no desire for it and now take steps to actively avoid it.
genAI is going to fail for the same reason NFTs, play-to-earn, web3, and the metaverse failed: because it's being sold as an "inevitable future" that you have to put up with and adapt to, rather than, you know, a product you would conceivably want to buy
