Getting into the groove of making articles again. Here's one for Strategy X, which was released on Arcade Archives a few weeks back. Includes version differences with the older Stern set, an unused enemy, and evidence for a possible older Konami set buried in Stern's version.

Picture of the starting area of Strategy X (Konami set). There's a large cyan arrow pointing upwards with the text, "GO AHEAD !!" below the arrow. Hopefully this is pointing at the TCRF link.

If you've been sitting on something you've wanted to document, now might be a good time to finally log in and write that article. (Or at least log in.)

going to clean up unused accounts on the wiki tomorrow

if you have an account and have made any edit at all, your account won't be deleted. this only affects accounts that were registered and never actually used, and only if they haven't been logged into in >180 days.
a ms paint notice informing you that i am deleting unused accounts on the tcrf wiki.
an unused account has 'no edits, no uploads, no log entries" (moving pages, etc) and hasn't been logged into for over 180 days.
you can avoid having your account deleted by logging in.

Now that Deltarune has been out for a few weeks, you might want to take a look inside the game! A big chunk of chapter 3 got cut, and there's a lot of unused sprites throughout both new chapters.

"A mannequin designed after Ralsei's mysterious Chapter 1 appearance. This is NOT located in the files of Chapters 1 or 2, and was specifically added for Chapter 3."

A larger number of items from Gaelco's archives were given to us recently. Amongst them was a World Rally prototype (on Modular System) from before Carlos Sainz image was covered with a giant helmet. The development story is well known, so this is an important piece of history.

If you use secure, unique passwords, you should not have any problems (consider a password manager). Also, ensure you have a verified e-mail address on your wiki account for password resets, should the need ever arise.
tcrf.net
There have been reports of "compromised accounts"; unfortunately, some users used the same password for the wiki as they did on other hacked sites, and those accounts were used for vandalism. Any account that was part of a compromised list had its password reset as a security measure.
tcrf.net
Ongoing events: Unfortunately, the website and community have been the target of an ongoing harassment campaign by the website KF. For those reasons, we've temporarily locked down invites and wiki registrations to prevent abuse and vandalism. (continued)

Happy pride month! To celebrate, the logo rotates through a few different pride flags, and the Discord server icon has been changed to be a little more colorful.

Remember: Being kind costs you nothing.

For those using Discord, we (currently) have one of those fancy "server tags" you can use on your profile.

i wrote a blog post about the ongoing LLM scraper/DDoS botnet problem, so there's something a little better to read than a bunch of disjointed bsky posts

This is a week late, but here's a TCRF article on Dead Connection that I made a few years back. Notable finds include a big debug menu, scrapped 4P support, a location test screen, hidden cameos from Zak and Mel of Pu-Li-Ru-La fame, and a mess of unused destructibles.
tcrf.net/Dead_Connect...
Screenshot of a "Screen Character Test" debug tool from Dead Connection. On the left is a bitmap of a brown-suited man with a brown hat. He looks pretty peeved. The player select screen from Dead Connection with Philip (with one "l") and James selected, but the cursors say 3P and 4P? Wuh?!? A location test screen from Dead Connection. The background is a sepia tone version of the standard Game Over backdrop. The usual Taito location test copy is displayed, which reads as follows:
"THANK YOU FOR PLAYING UP TO THIS STAGE. YOU ARE A VERY GOOD PLAYER. AREN'T YOU? BECAUSE THIS GAME IS NOW UNDER LOCATION TEST, WE ARE VERY SORRY NOT TO SHOW YOU THE NEXT STAGE OF THE GAME. WE ARE TERRIBLY SORRY FOR THIS AND HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN, SOMETIME AND SOMEPLACE." The high score screen, with the top two names being "JIR" and "KAT". The severed heads of Pu-Li-Ru-La's player characters, Mel (Girl, blue hat) and Zak (Boy, pink hat), adorn the bottom-left corner of the screen.

It's impossible to 100% Space Station Silicon Valley (N64) due to one of the trophies being intangible, but good news! The PlayStation port (that renamed it to Evo's Space Adventures, halved the framerate, removed some levels, and replaced the whole soundtrack) fixed it!

There's a hidden question in SimAnt, should you force it to show a message for losing the tutorial:

Howdy folks! After some investigation, it looks like the wiki has been under an ongoing but intermittent DDoS attack.

We've added some mitigations that should hopefully result in seeing less 502 errors. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The article includes an interesting look at an earlier DS system menu, from an early instruction manual. Look at that happy little PictoChat button!

If you've heard about the recent Game Freak leaks, editors have been working on documenting things from it:

There's a lot that isn't documented yet (like Quinty and the DS games), but you'll know where to find it when it is!
