So I will be keeping an eye on this development and testing to make sure that this acquisition doesn’t negatively affect users who want to continue to share their stories with the world. 🤞🏽

Accessibility is one of @bookcreator.com greatest strengths. Notice I said strength because accessibility isn’t a feature. It should be baked into everything we design and create.
techsnacks.bsky.social
I hope those flaws were addressed and corrected because @bookcreator.com cannot go backwards when it comes to accessibility. It should continue to be a tool that can be used and enjoyed by everyone( and I mean everyone!)

So now @bookcreator.com is part of Kami. I am approaching this announcement with some excitement and trepidation because when I tested Kami several years ago, it had a lot of accessibility flaws for navigation. hubs.la/Q03JzKZq0

This is why history should be taught. The civil rights movement in the US wasn’t not ancient history. “Joseph McNeil, Member of 'Greensboro Four' Who Protested Segregation at Lunch Counters, Dies at 83” Rest in power, King.

“These are called temporary disabilities or situational barriers. They may last a few minutes or hours, but for millions of people with permanent disabilities, these barriers don’t just “go away.”-Diana Khalipina(quote and image)
Infographic titled ‘12 everyday temporary disabilities.’ Subtitle: ‘If you checked even one box → you’ve experienced accessibility barriers.’ It lists 12 scenarios with icons: 1) Couldn’t read your screen in bright sunlight. 2) Couldn’t follow a video in a noisy place. 3) One hand busy (carrying something), so can’t type. 4) Lost internet connection—page wouldn’t load. 5) Text too small or too light to read. 6) Keyboard not working—stuck on login form. 7) Too tired to process a wall of text. 8) Buttons/links too close together on mobile. 9) Tried zooming in but the layout broke. 10) Confusing navigation—couldn’t find the info. 11) Slow site, couldn’t wait—gave up. 12) Images with no description/explanation.’

A large group of Coppin State University Division of IT members pose together indoors in front of a backdrop with the Coppin logo and 125th anniversary branding. Most are wearing navy blue Coppin polo shirts with the anniversary logo, while one person in the front row wears a navy and gold shirt that says “AYYY COPPIN.” The group is diverse in age, gender, and background, with some people smiling broadly and others posing more formally. A flower arrangement in Coppin colors is visible on the right side of the image.

Love how her companion cat is all chillax wondering why she is fussing. It is almost like the cat is saying “ You know she is going to feed you, relax”🤣

My doctoral program started summer 2023. On target for May 2026 graduation. But yeah, I fussed with June Wendy too when I started…..😂

Not sure why we use crickets as a metaphor for silence. The ones in my bearded dragon’s cage were so loud last night I’m convinced they smuggled in megaphones and held a TED Talk.
