I’m finally mostly free of a professional obligation that has been going on since July. It clocked in at over 200 pages.

Time to finally fully commit to fandom nonsense… after work.

Pic is mostly unrelated, although kinda reflects my mental state.

Oh hey, memes from last week’s Fate/Geist session that I forgot to share.

Thank you! I wanted to capture a mood with the lighting, so I’m glad it hits.

#bweirdoctober2025 Day 3: Fav OC

I’ll do something more profound with you later, Curtis. Eventually. This was inspired by our recent trip to Stratford. Our motel was across the street from a sheep farm. They make really wild noises in the middle of the night.

What neat about the shading is there’s not a lot of detailed colour variation outside of the kitty. The natural light on the materials and where the pattern focuses on details does so much heavy lifting. It breaks my brain a bit to think about.

Finished another “TTRPG and Streaming Nights” #crossstitch project. This one ran January-September.

This is the largest project I’ve completed in terms of surface area, although it’s not the most complicated. This pattern is from the 90s and lacks the “confetti” of modern designs.

The TTRPG community remembers G+. The TTRPG will not let you forget they remember G+.

Someone needs to make G+ nostalgic fan merch for the RPG community.

Does anyone still remember the social network Google+?

OCtober 2025 Day 1: New OC. Frédéric from @mer0v.bsky.social’s current Urban Shadows campaign. He’s a very tired French Canadian monster hunter who masquerades as more likeable American hunter on stream.

He also really wants to punch a particular vampire, but don’t we all?

High levels of existential stress on a society scale is my working theory, based on the behaviours I’ve documented at work.

Still, let us never forget, my deranged Metatopia dinner party adventures.

I hoped you enjoyed them if you went. I wish you could have been there if you didn’t. 🔚 7/7

There was a follow up event in 2018. I booked out a 25 person space in the sister restaurant. It was fun to be a wacky little podcaster/con organizer hosting this underground, unofficial dinner party, but it wasn’t as magical as that 2017 party. I stopped organizing them after that point. 6/7

I had no idea what I had done.

To their credit, the Mehndi staff were total angels and accommodated us.

Some have convention stories about meeting someone famous in a lobby. Brokering a deal to get published because of a chance encounter. I took over a restaurant with a tsunami of people. 5/7

In retrospect, what happened is we organized a big group online. Then everyone invited talked to their other friends. Then, those friends started talking about a TTRPG restaurant adventure people in the badge line.

Smash cut to me standing in this surreal circular lobby with 25+ nerds. 4/7

We found the restaurants in 2016. Rob used to recounted our adventure to them as a comedy bit. Word made it around about our weird mall experience and others wanted in.

I organized a dinner the next year. I found my post announcing that we had a generous reservation for 10. Famous last words. 3/7

First off: It was genuinely the Vampire LARP Bar. IIRC, bar backstory was the restaurant owner was travelling the Australian outback, met a bartender who made experimental cocktails, and then hired them. You could get those cocktails in the attached restaurants.

And now the actual story. 2/7

I found out the Vampire LARP Bar complex closed this past winter at Headquarters Plaza. I am heartbroken.

I used to host ridiculously large dinner parties here during Metatopia. Gather around kids, let me tell you about the first dinner party and what happened…

Metatopia lore? Who knows. 1/7

And yes, I am very aware of the problématique ending, but the rest of the story is so batfuck unhinged by that point that my position is “(shrug) Sure. Whatever.”

I can’t help but think it’s a deranged Heinlein reference, anyway.

I somehow convinced @mer0v.bsky.social to join me on a rewatch of YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World

My pitch:
My theory is the writer of Dead Mount Death Play played Yu-No and asked “Sure, but what if Kodai Arima had a gun?” And that’s where Rozan Shinoyama comes from.
