You know the drill. I read about dead people, teach about Judaism, and write about magic. Less argumentative in 2025 but no promises. Repped by @HandspunLit. Very gay, very Jew.

And then POST A PUBLIC PICTURE where it’s VISIBLE (picture is cropped because the entire picture includes an actual toddler).

Imagine being stupid enough to admit that your husband has a swastika tattooed in the general public, but then to defend it…

Good for them. That’s how Jews practice Judaism.

4). What power, precisely? Because power in 1st century Palestine lay with the Romans, Herodians, and priests, in that order. What power of the Pharisees are you referencing?
testonewrites.bsky.social
3). No, the Gospels make it clear that the Pharisees’ main issue with Jesus was his association with violent child traffickers and thugs, which is a legitimate grievance. As well as his claim to rabbinic authority, another legitimate grievance.

2b). Giving somebody claiming rabbinic authority a chance to prove themselves by asking them a difficult or impossible question about the law is literally how Judaism works. There are examples of it everywhere in Jewish writings. Jesus is not special in this regard.

Okay let’s break this down.

1). Yes. In 30 CE Jerusalem, only the Romans could execute someone. The Sanhedrin had abdicated their power.

2). “Trapping Jesus” here is asking him a question of the Law that seems to have no answer. That’s how Judaism works.

I learned about Van Gogh from Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Do you have a favorite example of learning about high culture from low culture? Mine is the episode of Gilligan's Island where the castaways stage a musical adaptation of Hamlet set to the tune of Carmen (70s TV was wild) <1/n>

There’s a whole religion that does not do either of these things. It’s called Judaism.

Might be time to send missionaries to share the gospel with the white evangelical church in America.

Appalled by the attack on a mosque in East Sussex.

An appalling act of Islamophobic hate.

Grateful no lives were lost, but the impact will be profound. We must stand together against hate and division.

Our strength is in unity, and intolerance will not win.

May the protestors in Chicago be safe.
May their care for their fellow human beings inspire a nation in desperate need of humanity.
May this be the worst it gets.

And if it must get worse
(for it will get worse)
May we cultivate strong wills and soft hearts.
And may we keep protesting.

Have you considered that you’re wrong and also a terrible person?

Because what we needed in a discussion about deconstructing harmful language was the input of Paul Harper, the Main Character of the Universe.

Are you both somehow under the ludicrous assumption that Jews worship Jesus Christ as a god?

They have no explanation for saying this other than the fact that I am a Jew. That’s literally it.
