They shot her in front of witnesses & with body cams turned on

Reagan, despite the damage he caused, continued to be respected by so many Americans on both sides of the political spectrum. His jovial personality & practiced charm were enough to convince many that he was a good leader, evidence be damned.

Right, the FBI has always been a Republican institution. 99% of FBI agents are Republican. Every permanent head of the FBI has been a Republican. Only a handful of Democrats have held temporary leadership positions in the FBI, and only while the FBI was sorting out new permanent leadership.

Or, MAGA is a fascist movement & they no longer feel the need to deny that? There are a lot of man-boys out there openly embracing fascism. And then there are the trad-wives & right-wing women who also embrace fascism.

I think (hope) they've overplayed their hand, but time will tell.

. It's no exaggeration to say that without Bluesky, The Handbasket would not exist in its current form. I was able to cultivate a supportive community there and use my account to publish even more news when I didn't have time to write an entire post. It's a main artery of what I do, and many of the people who pay for a subscription understand that it's part of the product I'm providing.

That's why I was taken aback when the Executive Editor asked me, "How do you think we can monetize our website?" I really wanted to say "how the fuck should I know?" and also "why are you asking me?" In retrospect it should've been a glaring red flag that the adults in charge had no idea what they were doing and that it would be up to me and my peers to figure it out. But that's something I wouldn't realize until much later on, after years of expecting someone else to fix it. Until I realized I was the adult.

There are many reasons to NOT release the Epstein files, & not all are because tRump plays a starring role. A huge # of Republicans are implicated in them. That's why they needed 1000 FBI agents to go over them & remove Republicans' names. But when they were done, there wasn't much left to release.

Do you just "know" better than everyone else? Do you think denying the realities of religion somehow cleanses your Christian beliefs? As for education, is it educated to deny reality?

Regardless, you can't just wave a magic wand & disappear organized religion & white Christian nationalism.
