I plan to spend the rest of the evening binging season 4 of Stranger Things and eating my weight in popcorn. 🎬🍿

Gazing at my shelves, trying to decide which books to take with me as we travel this weekend. So hard to choose.

No such thing as “too many books.” I’m gonna read them all.
Eventually.

So far this morning, I've had four cups of strong tea while making peanut butter fudge, which must be sampled as it's being cooked.

They may have to scrape me off the ceiling...

Who are writers you started reading in the last year or so that are now must-read writers for you?

This happens a lot but off the top of my head for me it's Sayaka Murata, Eliza Clark, and Delilah S. Dawson.

Also a big nod to Dan Howarth for wowing me with Last Night of Freedom and Lionhearts.

DJ took my company car in for scheduled maintenance. Mentioned how the tires obviously needed to be rotated. The mechanic man helping him said it would definitely be a woman that wouldn't pay attention to her tires needing rotation. Casual misogyny on full display.

DJ gave him a piece of his mind.

This is a little heads up to keep a lookout for the stabstress this week! She’ll be back out to do some fundraising for the Transgender Law Center. More details coming soon (and some in the alt text) 👀

I highly recommend getting shakes with your kid and singing to Pink Pony Club and Hot To Go in the car as loud as possible.

Instant mood lifter.

Alright, #booksky. I need your help.

My son's friend finished Lonesome Dove and is rightfully distraught 😂

He wants to know what to read next. What are your recommendations following a masterpiece like that?

I've been able to read approximately 3 sentences at a time today. My concentration is awful. And the worst part is that I am really liking the books I am reading...

Maybe it's time for a movie instead 🤔

Saw a Clay McLeod Chapman book (Stay on the Line) and a Stephen Graham Jones book (The Only Good Indians) at the thrift bookshop that I may go back for tomorrow for the LFL. Kicking myself for not just getting them today.

Headed to do a little gift shopping today at a local bookstore.

What do you think the chances are that I leave without purchasing something for myself?

I’m doing the audiobook for Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane, first time reading the book in a few years. This one flew under a lot of radars, but it’s one of Lehane’s strongest. Immaculate pacing with detailed, vivid character work and something real to say.
