I will celebrate my 39th anniversary this week. We have known each other for forty-four years. Nobody thought we would last. We weren’t sure we would last. Happy anniversary to my person. 🩷

I believe the Chosen narrative arose precisely bc the industry knew that adoption involves so much of the last resort. Psychologically, the idea of being chosen needs to serve both the adopter and the adopted, a sort of semantic stop sign for grief and loss. #adoption #adopted #chosen #trauma #cptsd

The first question I asked when I learned I am adopted was Is my birthday even my birthday? Plenary adoption robs us of many of the essential elements of our identity. Maybe worst of all, it corrupts our ability to trust in anything at all. #asoption #adopted #adopteerights #identity #truth #trust

I watched F1 , hoping to figure out the appeal of car racing.
I still don’t get it.
That’s not a value judgement. I’m just disabled due to a car accident. I think it’s made me car-risk averse.

I was doing some shopping today. I kept thinking I must look like I know what I am doing here, because ppl keep asking me where to find things ànd àbout the products. When I finally had no answers, I learned an actual employee had my same hair color, and ppl thought we were the same person. 😂

I’d love to read a novel where infertility is an issue, the person(s) consider adoption, actually listen to adopted people, and decide to engage with kids through volunteer work and mentoring. Ànd advocating for social supports that truly care for kids. #adoption #adopted #adopteerights
