i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

I feel like after that call nobody can say the refs help the chiefs win, that was actually an insane call to make. I can tell that ball had gotten hit by the other team, if they just review the footage they could see it too!
