I once wrote a last minute paper on Lincoln, which I should have been able to do in my sleep, unfortunately I had taken mushrooms for the first time earlier that evening. It was terrible and I got a bad grade, but I remember every. Damn. Word.

I vividly remember night-beforing a paper on image systems in "Maus." Sweat-soaked panic.

The teacher took time out the next week to talk about how one of our papers in particular was a stunning example of a great essay and then **started reading my paper in front of the class.** I wanted to die.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

I started listening in 2012, right when it started, on a long road trip to visit my Mother in Law for the first time. I’m still listening!

Legendary session bassist Leland Sklar added a non-functional switch to his bass, dubbed the "producer switch." Whenever a producer asks him for a new sound, he flips the switch, making sure they're watching, and continues playing as before. Sklar says this harmless trick has saved him countless headaches.
