It’s like— look, this shit is not new, this is “Monkey’s Paw” / “Pet Sematary”— but to see it done with such clarity of stakes and escalation and such an anchor in emotion, is rare. A reminder that the issue with some recent “trauma horror” is how loudly they announce it instead of dramatizing it.

Serious respect— especially for how the film could’ve played more obscure with its mysteries but lets you in on the competing tensions early on. “Talk to Me” originally felt like a fun exercise. Now I see it as a warm-up for this, which— yah— is one of the best horror flicks of 2025.

I’ve been leery about this turn since the otherwise excellent “Furiosa” had needless AI face blending of the two Furiosa actresses and the ghoulish resurrection of the Bullet Farmer (whose actor died between films) for the sake of the movie’s few dull expository bits.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.
