1. 4 months ago, The Supreme Court gave families a right to opt out of LGBTQ+ education in schools.

Now, in Montgomery County, Maryland, where the case originated, the results are in.

Only 43 families out of 160,000 students have exercised that new right.

It’s certainly better than twitter. But I have a strong suspicion that there’s a baseline level of “this is more misery and anger than a human is meant to mainline through their eyes” inherent to any given social media platform

To accommodate outsized Yom Kippur crowds, my shul held services today in a tent in the street.

Security looked like a road closure, private guards, a police car with flashing lights, a metal fence, and cars parked diagonally (in case someone attempts ramming).

Manchester is a tragic reminder why.
