it is written in a very visceral yet innocent way. the characters are what i love more than anything else. the entire novel also takes place in a very short period of time with a set number of characters in a specific setting which differs a lot from many of king's other books.

The religious aspect of The Unworthy was both horrifying and intriguing. Bazterrica did an excellent job of mixing Catholic and new-age spiritual ideals into something incredibly sinister. There is an overwhelming feeling of rot and decay with interspersed moments of light and beauty.

The Long Walk remains my favorite book of all time for many reasons but Garraty and McVries’ relationship is a huge one. I am looking forward to the movie release, but am concerned about how their relationship will be portrayed. Still, I’m holding out hope.
