It’s called a clapper bridge. They dragged big stones and built bridges over shallow crossing areas. They were just wide enough for a small cart to cross

I’m not overly familiar with the habits of Neolithic man, but it seems that every time they went somewhere they thought it was a good idea to make a stone circle

Thank you. One of my oldest and best friends lives in the New Forest and he is obsessed with pannage ( I think it’s a village thing ) …. I quite enjoyed it, but the novelty wore off after approximately 5 mins, a bit like eating macaroni cheese
