as promised, twelve (12) of you loved the silly little thing I assembled for the month of December with my typical Dan plan taking form (me forgetting the socks/granola bars on the big day and having to go back days later 🤣 )…

Reminder: journalists get arrested in Canada too.

In fact, The Narwhal is in court right now challenging the RCMP for arresting photojournalist Amber Bracken. Our editor-in-chief,Carol Linnitt, testifies today and Monday, and court is open to the public if you're in Vancouver.
Carol Linnitt, co-founder and editor-in-chief, provides an update on The Narwhal’s court case against the RCMP. Amber Bracken finished cross-examination late Jan. 28. It took more than 12 hours.

Giving Ekholm the penalty despite the rookie telling them it wasn’t a penalty…

That ref will NOT have his authority questioned.

@saltlick.bsky.social appreciate you unfollowing him given the evidence.

Sorry for getting elbows up there, but I do trust the people I follow as a part of my vetting (both ways) 👊

Account is still up. Post still up: bsky.app/profile/matt...

Beat goes on @jay.bsky.team allows disinformation to run rampant

Large accounts follow him: @yasharali.bsky.social @atrupar.com @markhamillofficial.bsky.social @saltlick.bsky.social

I question if there is any ‘good’ social media rn
Remember, @jay.bsky.team is waffle with this app being used to karma farm / confuse resources on the site w/ accounts such as @mattmfm.bsky.social

that post locations as though they’re occurring currently…

w/ complete impunity.

It’s dangerous and it’s stretching efforts to stop this tyranny thin

Play it over and over.

That’s what Fox News does.
CNN airs compilation of federal agents acting with extreme aggression towards peaceful observers.

Edmonton should be a city where you can submit video evidence of a crime being committed… and have that possibly lead to fines/criminal convictions.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

Blocking the guys who spent their elementary / junior high days bullying me and mocking my attempts to be their friends

(Only to then try and chum up with me now that I’m “famous” — their word, not mine)

Is pretty god damn cathartic

Annoyed at their willful spooning up of local lying influencers.

Taking liberties on star players is more of an instigation than a player being ready to drop their gloves simultaneously (with a legitimate fighter himself)
The biggest issue with the instigator is that since the Bertuzzi incident… there really hasn’t been a player that has truly been vicious in their “instigation” of a fight.

But refs keep calling it, lowering the bar again and again.

I’m kind of excited to be able to say “I have been living AI free, since 2024”.

Sure ppl use it around me. My work might even have AI tools that help my staff do tasks.

I’m just happy to be able to search for information/create things I trust, not me trusting another source(s) to do that for me.
AI sits in billions of phones. Refusing to engage won't stop it, just leaves vulnerable people without knowledge. Demand ownership and control, not abstinence.
Abstinence From AI Is Not the Answer
Opinion | Refusing to use AI won’t protect society. Responsible resistance must include gaining knowledge about it.
