Will never forget "Jitterbug Perfume," which was carved into my brain when I read it very young, only in my teens. It was a novel unlike any others I had read and left a mark in me. I still think/daydream about it whenever I pluck my white hair. RIP Tom Robbins 🙏 😢

Is it really my fault if I read a book about child wizards and armadillo familiars who try to get the rain back to their village till 5AM, then show up at a ZOOM meeting in the afternoon all sleepy and unfocused?

In my experience, if you get a submission rejection in the middle of a ZOOM meeting for your day job, you're already so frustrated, numb, and in a bad mood that the rejection doesn't sting as much.

I was supposed to clean the house, do the laundry, change the bed sheets, cook a good meal today, but all I did after waking up at a late hour was eating mini sandwiches, drinking tea, drinking coffee, eating dessert, and watching The Maltese Falcon in a half-sitting, half lying down position.
