i saw these ads with my partner and i was like... this is probably supposed to be some self-aware joke at its own expense but it's not working
I have genuinely never seen an ad campaign that seems less aware of the perception of what it’s selling. NO ONE thinks watching those shows makes them smarter lol

A very frustrating thing that's been happening to me lately is that I've been reaching out to sources to try to report stories & people ask me who I'm writing for & when I say I'm independent or cite my newsletter, they stop responding.

lol I’ve been a journalist for over a decade, I’ve published a book, I’ve written magazine cover stories, & I’ve won national journalism awards. I think it’s safe to say I’ve “started”

hey @civilbeat.bsky.social: is there a reason this change was made to this article but no correction or explanation was issued? because as far as I can tell, the change is inaccurate: the company is not "complying with all laws," they are following an exec order. those are not the same things.

Again as the email I shared from USRowing states explicitly: NGBs were told they had to comply or be decertified. I had been hearing similar all summer but couldn’t get the confirmation I needed to report beyond just “sources said”.
