Yesterday I attended a mono silk screen workshop! I’ve been doing so many meticulous linocuts that it was so fun to learn a #printmaking technique that requires you to let go of control. #birds

Cuspirostrisornis, an Enantiornithine bird from cretaceous China, sits perched on a branch in the sunlight amid ginkgo and araucaria pines. It has a small yellow snout, black mask, orange back, white belly, and two long iridescent blue tail feathers. It has a fleshy snout rather than a hard beak, and two little claws emerge at the bend of the wing. A green tortoise beetle climbs downward on a bug-bitten leaf. The beetle has transparent elytra that look like a clear glassy shield over its metallic green and black body. We got a walking pad specifically for this time of year when it’s far too hot to be outside. I’m like a little hamster that needs to run on a wheel for enrichment or something. So I do my little walks throughout the day. (Don’t worry. The cats are never on or around it when it’s in motion.)
