Today, they inaugurated The Great Bubble Barrier in Vila do Conde, Portugal. It’s 235 meters long, the largest ever installed. Its purpose is to block, capture, and collect plastic that unfortunately floats downstream and ends up in the sea and on the nearby beaches. Congrats to all involved!
Looking forward to seeing you there!

How does a Bubble Barrier work? ⚙️

We create a bubble curtain by pumping air through a perforated tube, which creates an upward current directing plastic to the surface. By placing it diagonally across the river, the flow of the water will push the plastic to the side and into the catchment system.
We are on a mission to clean rivers from plastic pollution using bubbles. Keen to lend us a hand? Join our team!
