We call our engineers wizards for a reason.
Little magical moments in the lifecycle of a games development like when the support channel pings with:

DO NOT FROB THE BOOK.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE FROB THE BOOK.
THE BOOK IS CURSED AND SHOULD NOT BE FROBBED.

Followed 5 minutes later by:
🌈✨🦄 It is now safe to frob the book! 🌈✨🦄

@occultgamedev.bsky.social gets most of the credit (with a few assists from our artists.) We streamed it for most of yesterday, and it felt like home.

Shout out to @occultgamedev.bsky.social for leading this. Marketing a game is difficult, every little bit helps, and it's extremely appreciated when anyone on the team does something like this.

Greetings #PitchYaGame,

We invite you to Våkenatt and bid you welcome. Please warm yourself by the fire and indulge a demon in a friendly game of cards.

Though we must ask: Do you have a soul? The stakes, you see, are quite high.

Wishlist the Killing Stone. Coming early 2026.

Tips and tricks for besting the demons on the battle line.

Even though you can't control the cards in your hands, you can control where you place your pieces. My strategy: clear the demon's creatures and prepare to dominate the next round.

This is how you keep a demon on his toes.

Polite cosmic horrors? We’ll take it.
If you're on the edge let me endorse is to you - in this game you literally bargain with Demons before fighting them, and thats hella cool. Also the demons are polite cosmic horrors, so that's a bonus.
Happy #WishlistWednesday!

How does an #indiestudio create a soundtrack for their 17th century folk horror game?

Step one: Hire a badass audio team.
Step two: let them be their weird, wonderful selves.

@chrisrickwood.bsky.social made his own tagelharp (YES - handmade!), then he also tracked down a hurdy-gurdy just for us.

Bones and steel, you ask?

Yes, and steel and bones.

Screws driven deep to the marrow. A knife struck by a mallet followed by a satisfying crunch.

A corpse calcified and nailed to a wall.

This is what happens when you play with demons.

How to kick a demon's ass.

The key to winning our card battles is optimizing moves. Notice how I'm willing to hold a card between turns, undo my moves, and discard cards that are clogging up my hand. Watch your tooltips and pay attention to how keywords interact. The results can be devastating.

This is what game devs play when they want to decompress after a long day. By day, demons and self-immolating battle creatures, by night "Oh yes, I think you'd enjoy this copy of "Beloved."
