Definitely the same image but that's totally fine for me.

In 2026 I want to, among other things:

-Take a good swing at video content about the things I like or want to do

-Acquire a new skill - work, personal, etc.

I'll be back here on December 31st again.
Just about everyone in #kpop group #Dreamcatcher has been busy through the holidays and into 2026, but that's pretty much business as usual even as they turn to solo and subunit projects. Check out the latest below! thelowkeygeek.com/dreamcatcher...
Dreamcatcher Members Kick Off 2026 With Activities and Upcoming Releases
Dreamcatcher members have been cooking up content through the holidays and into another New Year in 2026, with new releases and fan engagement

This is a good thread and it's part of why I post my #blueskies thread posts.

We should be concerned with the events in the world but not be crushed by them, because there are folks out there doing good out there right now, and they exist around us if you know where to look.
The news was really awful today, and I want to take a moment to offer a counterpoint.

I'm working on a freelance job for the National Association of Social Workers, and today I talked to a social worker from rural parts of New York State.

Only she isn't just a social worker.

I bought Octopath Traveler 0 after a post from @jazzlikestogame.bsky.social reminded me it was out, and I have to say, I miss those old-school JRPGs that let you stumble into the high level area and get annihilated while the game essentially laughs at you. Thanks Octopath.

(2026-1/365) I'm starting the 2026 version of #blueskies - a thread with daily uplifting stories, good things happening in the world, or personal enjoyment, meant to be a break from life's challenges.

Let's start with this dedicated educator of 61 years who inspired many. www.cbc.ca/radio/asitha...
Teacher wins Guinness World Record for working 61 years at the same school | CBC Radio
Retired Tennessee teacher Glenda Akin has lived and worked through a whole lot of history. And now she’s made history herself as the Guinness-certified longest serving teacher at the same school .

Both goals achieved. Not quite as far as I'd liked, but life really threw things for a loop this year.

I created my first music video in years, still write regularly about games, kpop, and community management, and I got a bit further with my Korean.

I'll take it and am thankful.
Ok, let's try this again, 2025.

Of my New Year's goals this year I can share publicly:

-Create Content You Love And Which Adds Value

-Make Progress On A Language

Let's see where I'm at on December 31st.
December 31, 2025 at 11:18 PM
And here it is - another year of daily moments of happiness, personal joy, and uplifting stories. Not sure how many folks read, but I'll keep it up.

The world can be tough, but there are good things in it. You just need to look.

Please QRT the thread below and share that reminder with others.

#Dreamcatcher in 2025 was filled with change for one of 3rd generation's best #kpop groups, but new projects didn't mean the group was forgotten. Check out my annual year-end review of the group's activities below! thelowkeygeek.com/year-end-rev...
Year-End Review: Dreamcatcher's Members Shift To New Horizons, Keeping The Group Close To Their Hearts
This year, Dreamcatcher entered into a new phase of their careers as subunits and as soloists, but they've never forgotten the group that got them there.

Somehow, I think I might actually make it through another Whamageddon this year, which is impressive considering my family has insisted on the radio station playing only Christmas music to be tuned in when I've been driving.

Nostalgia is also a reminder that in some cases, they did it better back then.

See: McDonald's including socks with their Grinch meal when they could have done something like the glorious green Grinch pancakes from IHOP. Also, any 80's/90's trend coming back.
Also, don't let any Grinch try to tell you that nostalgia is somehow unhealthy or unproductive. I am telling you as a licensed therapist that it is incredibly powerful. It is an anchor, a reminder that you have experiences and sensory memories of comfort and purpose that can never be taken away

Hey! Are you weary about the world and need a break? Want to know there's still good and joy in the world?

I'm on the home stretch of yet another thread of good news, wholesome stories, and personal enjoyment in 2025, so if you've missed any of it, it's below!
(2025-354/365) We're going to see a few heartwarming stories around the holiday, but this one was 5 years in the making. Pets are family and finding a missing family member after this long is worth celebrating #blueskies abc7.com/post/ca-dog-...

The best diners are the ones where you shrug and say "sure I'll take 4 cinnamon swirl pancakes instead of 2" and then end up misjudging the size of said pancakes, so you have to take them home.

Oops.

As someone who does holiday baking, I laughed and was sad at the same time. But I also found a new subreddit to look at.

@tabatkins.com I know you do cooking and baking, this one..it's something.

(thanks @zenofdesign.com for QRT'ing something great, humorous subreddits are the best).
incredible stuff over at r/ididnthaveeggs

I'm really trying to find the rationalization for this especially since Denny's specifically says not to break open the sneakers to eat the syrup in a sugar-based emergency or something.

I don't think this is what the kids mean when they say "drip".
Bookmarked with the greatest of haste

December is typically a slower #kpop month, but not for the members of #Dreamcatcher. Check out the latest about the group below! thelowkeygeek.com/dreamcatcher...

The last month of the year is here, and even though there's holidays around the corner, Dreamcatcher members continue to be booked and busy.

Discussions about The Game Awards aside (as there's a lot of legitimate criticism, don't get me wrong), I do find it ironic the people who say all these different flavors of "I don't care about The Game Awards" while clearly caring enough to say that they couldn't be bothered.

Picking Python back up to finish learning it. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I can't fathom using AI tools to generate tons of code. I'd never learn anything. I limit AI tool use to validations, small suggestions, and reminders. Everything else I code and program myself.

For those who missed it, here's what I wrote about Expedition 33.

thelowkeygeek.com/clair-obscur...
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's Powerful Message Is In Wearing Grief Like A Cloak
Grief is as personal, unique journey, and it's never been as apparent or as poignantly depicted as in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

There's a lot of cynicism around The Game Awards, just generally speaking, and they're not particularly my favorite due to how very corporate they've always been.

But I'd remind people that for many of the devs who attend/are nominated, this is a time to be seen, in an industry that rarely does so.
December 12, 2025 at 4:28 AM
The people who appear to have issue with Expedition 33 cleaning up at The Game Awards seem to have forgotten when Lord of the Rings: RotK won all 11 of its nominations in 2004.

Awards shows in this format and in this nature should award to what is judged to be the winner, even if it's one thing.
December 12, 2025 at 4:19 AM
As it should have. I wrote about it a little earlier, but the reason this Game Awards sweep happened was in part because Expedition 33 took a topic that many of us, myself included, have experienced - loss - and hit all the right notes in a way that proved they put their heart and soul into it.
'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' won 9 awards at #TheGameAwards — the most for any game ever 🎮

• Game of the Year
• Best Narrative
• Best Game Direction
• Best RPG
• Best Art Direction
• Best Score & Music
• Best Performance
• Best Debut Indie Game
• Best Independent Game

Extreme participation in #kpop communities sometimes feels like an obligation - but it doesn't have to be, especially when it comes to feeling comfortable enjoying the music. More below!

Somehow, that part of the "Avengers: Endgame" trailer where they're all saying "whatever it takes" started playing in my head as this picture was placed into the supercut and I definitely did not start laughing uncontrollably.
Had to make sure this wasn't one of those "parody Giants insider" situations
