I find this interesting because I think people who live in NYC and LA believe this very much while basically nobody else I know (precious few of whom live in NYC/LA) does
NYC and LA are the cultural light under which privilege and wealth are viewed. So yes, I agree, many many many perceptions are distorted by social relationships, including the phenomena where people who don't live in iconic places wish they could afford to.

The Parlour by Picture Parlour
This is a debut and holy shit is it good.
I heard their single “the traveling show” a month or two ago and liked it fine but find there to be some serious standouts.
“Norwegian wood” and “Around the bend” are excellent

I love Miguel but don’t love this album. It definitely has some great moments - partway through “Nearsight” I thought it was going to take off ala “Candles in the Sun” but it did not.
Caos is a good song.

This is the thing that gets me about Kill Tony - mean can be funny but it’s not the only funny and I don’t know why the Austin scene decided that was the case
The height of comedy, two middle-aged men laughing at the abstract notion of how mean a robot could be to a person
