We are (re)watching The Thing tonight and so I will offer up an excellent idea that Hollywood will never take on - an all-female remake (maybe directed by Karen Kusama?) called "The Bitch"

Wait, are you telling me I could have had $15000 of Cartier jewelry if I had just let a prominent journalist 34 years older than me sleep with me as a barely legal? Some things need to start being taught in school because like, I love my husband, but Cartier jewelry at 20 would've been rad

It is 30 years on, so the perfect time for this teen generation to have their OWN fellatio scandal involving a president. Somewhere in this country a 12-year old is saying "blow job" out loud at the dinner table for the first time b/c of the news & I just hope they're doing it wearing body glitter

Regarding The Shining, I think if I were Wendy, the thing that would concern me the most about Danny isn't that he has an imaginary friend but that the friend is named "Tony"

Between this & the "Bob Iger and his protege can't believe that Ben Solo is alive so they won't let Steven fucking Soderbergh make a goddamn banger of a movie" story a few weeks ago, I truly don't believe any film studio understands film at all anymore. Imagination has been demolished by capitalism
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Saw a trailer yesterday for a new movie with Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt called "Mercy" and 1) the title - hilarious, it opens itself up to ALL kinds of criticism fodder & 2) did Rebecca Ferguson accidentally win Amy Adams agent in a bad hand of Hollywood Poker? What are we doing here, Becks?

For no reason other than curiosity, I wanted to see how many things Stephen King had written between when Stranger Things started and when it will release it's final season and in 10 years King is credited with 12 novels alone.

Predator: Badlands, Good Vibes
After a year in which we've received - some might even say were blessed with - the release of Predator: Killer of Killers and now its live-action sibling, Predator: Badlands, it seems clear that the Predator has found its generational voice in Dan Trachtenberg. In the same way that Lord of the Rings has Peter Jackson, Avatar has James Cameron and gothic tales have Guillermo del Toro, the dreaded bloodsport seekers now have a director who just simply gets them in a way that few properties are able to claim.

After watching that trailer for Michael, I would just like to ask biopics to take a seat for a while. It's time to just wait for VH1 to come back - along with cable in general - and just let them rock with it. I gasped when I saw Miles Teller (not complimentary)

The unfairness of knowing that I'm living through this timeline without knowing what Nora Ephron or Carrie Fisher would have said is one of the more low-key infuriating things under all the high-key infuriating things like genocide, demolition of human rights & re-categorization of food as "reward"

It is still my feel-bad movie of 2021, but this cut really streamlines a lot and revisiting post-Covid brain made me realize (again?) that this is del Toro confirming there are no small roles. Every cast member is fully onboard and all of them somehow put in a Top 5 performance from their resume
Tonight's 61 DAYS OF HORROR: EXTENDED EDITION movie: Guillermo del Toro's new black-and-white director's cut of NIGHTMARE ALLEY, VISION IN DARKNESS AND LIGHT, on Criterion Collection 4K Ultra HD.

I am not here to tell artists what to do / how to live, but I am sitting at my altar, lighting a candle that Del Toro has not tired of gorgeous period pieces & now is eyeing an adaptation of the Jekyll & Hyde musical - since Andrew Garfield missed out on Frankenstein, he's a good fit here...

Ah! Just saw the "why would you want a Ben Solo movie instead of a Finn movie" take (and all of the implications of the kind of person you must be for enjoying the fact that - after everything, Adam Driver still liked that character enough to care) Back to my cave I go!
