Between this & the "Bob Iger and his protege can't believe that Ben Solo is alive so they won't let Steven fucking Soderbergh make a goddamn banger of a movie" story a few weeks ago, I truly don't believe any film studio understands film at all anymore. Imagination has been demolished by capitalism

The unfairness of knowing that I'm living through this timeline without knowing what Nora Ephron or Carrie Fisher would have said is one of the more low-key infuriating things under all the high-key infuriating things like genocide, demolition of human rights & re-categorization of food as "reward"

It is still my feel-bad movie of 2021, but this cut really streamlines a lot and revisiting post-Covid brain made me realize (again?) that this is del Toro confirming there are no small roles. Every cast member is fully onboard and all of them somehow put in a Top 5 performance from their resume

It is still my feel-bad movie of 2021, but this cut really streamlines a lot and revisiting post-Covid brain made me realize (again?) that this is del Toro confirming there are no small roles. Every cast member is fully onboard and all of them somehow put in a Top 5 performance from their resume
