Hey there folks! I'm finally back over here and plan to make the switch here from the twitbox over time.

For those looking for an Aussie #voiceactor whose voice bounces from low to high craziness, I could be your enby!

All my demos & deets can be found at Laneth.com
Tony and I have joked for a couple of years now that we'll be "releasing a book", and guess what? I'm going to make it happen! Our "book" will be an interactive resource, guide, and an entire library of accompanying videos and exercise files! Exciting times, my friends! πŸ₯°

A bit of a longer-term goal is taking all the concepts, notes, slides, & exercises that I've already written/created for the Audio Engineering for Voice Actors course with
Tony Wijs, expanding, refining & putting them together in a way that you can take course at your own pace.

..not only show people HOW to do it, but to give them the info & tools necessary to fully UNDERSTAND what it is they were doing, too. Soon, I'll be putting this all together in a more easily-digested, self-paced format - and don't worry, my notes/slides will still be part of it!

I recently ran a really successful event for my work,
@closingcreditsedu.bsky.social, and part of the efforts I went to in order to run it well was to take a bunch of the notes & slides I've created as part of the course mentioned in Image 1, expand them, and reorient the slides into a (con't ↓)

Post text = Since studying the original 12 week course, I've worked as TA for @immersedproduction.bsky.social, & have helped him rewrite, expand, & refine the course into what it is nowβ€”now I'm teaching my own cohort in my own time!

This is gonna be a short thread 🧡just to share what I wrote on my original instagram post

TL;DR? I'm teaching an international-friendly-time cohort of the @closingcreditsedu.bsky.social course I've been the TA for since 2020! Course info here: www.closingcredits.com/courses/audi...

It'll be FUNctional!ℒ️

Imagine if you could actually get "officially coloured" room sets that are partnered with the progenitor of all block drop games 😏

Everyone knows that you can't trust AI to give you factual and accurate news and information, and now the BBC have proved it. As we near the federal election, we need strong laws to regulate AI to stop unregulated AI companies spewing falsehoods whilst journalists are crowded out.

First time having another talent come use my space while their own booth is still being built, and of course I went into a mad panic in the days leading up trying to make sure everything was accounted for...
The one issue that came up? System sound playback not being heard in Zoom...of courseπŸ˜…πŸ˜

That's good to know re: stable release. I've been an early adopter for things like online platforms, which is generally fine cos nothing is reliant on them yet, but something like an OS (esp. as a creative)? Yeah, no - that, plus massive games & new consoles = no early adopter Neth πŸ˜…

I don't wanna 😭😑

I was hoping to hold off from updating to Win11 for a good long while yet, but for a whole bunch of reasons I've decided to just bite the bloody bullet and get this over with.

If I'm not as swift to reply over the next few days, it'll be because I'm setting everything up again...

Geez man, I do so hope you've not done any deeper damage that hides beneath the bruises. πŸ₯ΊπŸ«‚Swift recovery and warm baths for relaxing around the pain being wished for your near future!

Hasn't come at any small cost, and I've only done it because of work needs. πŸ₯² I also pay for 2TB of cloud storage, for all the shared / hosted files I use as part of my work...

And yes, those names ARE six of the eight playable characters from my absolute favourite installation from the Final Fantasy series; Final Fantasy IX #ffix

Don't get me wrong, I also love Amarant and Eiko, but I just don't have 8 drives (yet πŸ˜…)
December 2, 2024 at 5:27 AM
Why do I have so many drives? Just cos lol 🀣

No, but having several SSD & HDD drives to act as scratch disks, combined with a decent GPU for photo, video, and audio processing, and I've got a fkn awesome machine for both work AND gaming πŸ₯°

Not my normal content, but wanted to share my #gratitude
