When I notice my dog is in REM while snoozing next to me, I will put my hand up to his nose so he can smell me in his dream. It usually gets him excited. <3

So true. It's hotter when you don't see it coming.

How it takes, say, the idea of a Kane Pixels long-running drip-fed narrow-focused lore event and spreads it over multiple bite-sized shows on multiple channels. Or condenses the multimedia approach of an ARG to something more easily palatable: an ever-shifting palette of shortform TV shows.

In a perfect world Blippo+ would be the vanguard for a new genre of game-adjacent interactive entertainment, akin to Interactive Fiction or Visual Novels before it. A Blippo+-esque framework into which entire faux-cable networks can be loaded.

I have enough post-it note school doodles to make a collage :B 🗒️✏️ #BearHybridArt
A collection of post it note doodles. A grizzly catching a salmon, a howling wolf, a startled horse, a snoring brown bear, a dragon emitting smoke, scheming coyote, Kodiak bear wishing for fish, a snarling tiger, and a crybaby giraffe.

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

It turns out building habits and stuff actually requires not being in survival mode, who knew?!
(Yeah yeah I did)

Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).
Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist):

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

A fully grown Kovu flexes his strength with a smirking confidant look.

Had a dream a while back in which I discovered the existence of the "Grave of the Fireflies/Super Mario World 2-in-1" for the Wii. It basically functioned as a DVD except for a "special features" section that literally only had an SNES emulator playing Mario World. It went for absurd prices on eBay
The cover for a fake Wii game consisting of both the 1988 Studio Ghibli film, Grave of the Fireflies, and Super Mario World; both are represented on the cover, the former by the poster of Seita carrying his sister Setsuko across a field and the latter by the artwork of Mario wearing a cape and riding Yoshi. The cover promises "TWO classics in ONE!".
