There was absolutely no question that I’d be acquiring this.

Got a new video script written up. Stephameat’s back on the menu.

Almost completely free. The first bestiary was 100% my stuff with no changes. The two crossover ones I did had some tweaks and rewrites but even those allowed for a ton of freedom.

So far all the games I’ve worked on have given me huge amounts of creative space, which has been amazing.
Ooh, a hot tip. It doesn't come better than VSLit. 🫡

If you have time for one last Q, and I'm sure you've been asked before: did poncle&co. give you free reign with your specific brand of flavour, or did they have some ideas behind the ten billion things you interpreted?
(Unless it's a secret.)

It’s not the bestiary, but I *am* working on Vampire Survivors literature currently. Some delightful items are coming.
@poncle.games @commandersterling.bsky.social just tellin ya, i'd 100% buy the bestiary/lorebook on paper

it is a book, after all, as it tells you (in the book)

deckle-egged hardback please 🧄

There’s been another incident, and by that I mean our awful “comedy” podcast is back.

Boston’s Favorite Son is here to ruin your weekend: bostonfavoriteson.podbean.com/e/springfiel...
Springfield Follies | Boston’s Favorite Son
Jonathan does nothing untoward, there is an absence of witnesses to any scurrilous behavior, and one can provide no conclusive evidence to the contrary.

I miss Killzone. That was always my shooter. The only Killzone game the PlayStation Network even has is the PSP isometric shooter one.

The series got shafted so hard.

I’m quietly hopeful about it. I hope it lives up to its potential and provides a desperately needed shakeup in the gaming hardware market. The “big three” are long overdue some disruption.

I wouldn’t say I’m all hyped up, but I’m keenly interested.
Really wondering what @commandersterling.bsky.social has to say about the Steam Machine. On the one hand, they have criticized Valve and Steam in the past but on the other hand, I'm having a hard time finding anything wrong with it. Hmm 🤔

I love when Zelda says the game's title

"To save Hyrule's future, we must find a Link to the Past."
"Can you smell it Link? The Breath of the Wild."
"Breakfast is grows cold! It is time for Link's Awakening."
"Oh no, I'm late for Link's Crossbow Training."
"Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosey Rupeeland."

Since Sacred 2 turned out to be so horribly broken, I started replaying some Halls of Torment to scratch the itch.

It’s such a good game. Crossing Vampire Survivors with Diablo is still an inspired choice.

I reviewed Sacred 2: Remaster. I fondly remember the original, but this is broken beyond absolute belief. An inexcusably defective product that does Sacred 2 dirty.

I’m halfway through the new @kbash.bsky.social video and it’s a beautiful ride. Quite a few parts are cutting close to my old, disintegrating bones.

I reviewed ARC Raiders. A good tool for players to make their own fun, but only when fun is what they choose to make. Otherwise, it's a very mediocre and tedious shooter that compounds its lack of originality with AI bullshit.

Ubisoft and Treyarch resorting to regurgitative AI in their big $70 “AAA” games is simply pathetic.

The lack of integrity, the lack of dignity, the lack of pride. Sure, it’s all expected, but nonetheless miserably *pathetic* to witness.

Have some fucking self respect for once.

In fairness, it was a horrible thing to wish upon a woodchipper.

Execs always claim bloated budgets increase retail prices. This is a lie.

They will always increase prices to whatever they think they can get away with. Always have, always will. AI is merely a new get-richer-quicker scheme.

And execs will never admit the most bloated costs… are themselves.
- AI is used to offload the "tedious" work so devs can focus on the artistic side of things

- AI will make games cheaper to and faster to produce

Still a $70 game btw...

I’ve never been one for puzzle games except one, Lumines, which kept me utterly hooked when it released on the PSP. Can still go back to it today.

That said… holy *shit* Lumines Arise is good. This is utterly beautiful.

Sadly the Sacred 2 remaster is a total shit tip. What a fucking mess.

Absolutely classic late 2000s marketing for a game that was pretty decent fun. That song still floats into my memories from time to time.

I totally forgot the remaster was coming, so that’s my afternoon sorted. I’m going to hear NPCs sing this shit to themselves and get it stuck in my head again.
There's a Sacred 2 remaster out today, and trailers look incredibly bland and generic, especially compared to promotional material at the time, when they got BLIND GUARDIAN to do a song for the game, and they were NPCs in the game who you had to do a quest for to retrieve their lost instruments.

I can’t speak to any future plans as I’m only freelance, but I think I can say that Sassy Chap and I both want to work together again down the line. We’re mutual fans of each other and I admire their deep respect for artists.

In any case I feel extremely lucky to have worked on Date Everything 😊.
Oh yeah, I remember you saying you had done descriptions. I was quite tickled by the empty box repetitions. I hope they bring you back for the inevitable sequel.

It’s humbling that @dateeverything.bsky.social’s Barry Styles has regularly been called the best portrayal of neurodivergence in any piece of media by players discussing him.

He’s made players cry, and made them feel understood or helped them understand.

I’ll forever be proud of that.
