"I forgive you," he said silently. He knew a lot of people wouldn't accept Severus but he's seen and heard of how hard he worked for the betterment of the Wizarding World.

“Maybe not to them but you were a Death Eater. Don’t you want to be forgiven?”

“But what about what you’ve done?”

"But they did," he answered back tiredly. "They joined the Order of the Phoenix- both James and Sirius being pureblood by the way. They fought against pureblood supremacy to make the world a better place for everyone."

"No, it can't. So might I remind you that you were a Death Eater, Severus. A high ranking one at that."

"Yeah, yeah," Kingsley nodded frantically. He swished his wand and nonverbally mended the broken page. Still, that did not stop the beads of nervous sweat that rolled down his face as he looked left and right to make sure that Madam Pince hadn't noticed anything.

"I mean.. it was so long ago. And we've all been working for the same side now. They've did horrible things. You've did horrible things. Isn't it time to let go and forget?"

Kingsley came stumbling in with arms full of books. He dropped them on the table, not even realizing Remus had been sitting there, and began flipping through pages- his eyebrows pressed together in concentration in his determination to find the information he sought.
