This week I thought Cicero was sneaking into the kitchen cabinets when I'm not looking, because I kept hearing them close. It was driving me mad because I could never catch him in the act and he never shows interest in them when I'm there, even if they're open. But today I solved the mystery.

Somehow Bravely Default remaster was delivered today! Cicero had a stressful day and I wasn't planning on streaming so I'm gonna watch a movie with him and drink, and plan on starting that playthrough tomorrow!

I think my plan now is to take a temporary break from the FF3 SSCC's to give myself a chance to update my website with information on the challenge and the game in general (and 4JF guidelines, etc). In the meantime, I'll try the Bravely Default Switch 2 remaster!

Evoker is still my favorite job in this, by a wide margin, and likely my favorite FF job overall. It is extremely powerful by every metric (damage, healing, utility), and all its shortcomings are erased when on a proper team. When solo, it is quite rough, but I still had a lot of fun.

Evoker summons have a 50% chance of being damage and 50% chance of being some support ability. I needed to land 9 successful Odin attacks out of 16 turns, and needed to never go last on a healing turn (turn order is random, roughly based on agility; for this job, approximately 50%). It took 4 hours.

This was a big-time struggle. Evoker is extremely strong, has a ton of magic defense/evasion, and the strongest heal in the game. However, he is weak to getting his ass beat, and that is Two-Headed Dragon's specialty. Could've beaten the game at 70 otherwise, but needed 90 to beat THD.

Anyways, we're gonna push to end tomorrow before @murphagator.bsky.social and @mecharichter.bsky.social and I play some more of the funny Turtles game. Should be strong enough, but I need at least average luck for one fight and that may as well be impossible for me.

Evoker is such a good job. It is a riot playing through the game where you only get your spells like halfway through the game, and they only have a 50% chance of being an attack. And your strongest summon's 50% attack has a 50% chance of missing. It's my favorite job by a mile.
