agreed 10000% i wish a lot of the creative community practiced what they preach.

"art isn't real life" meanwhile they're commenting on anatomy saying "that's wrong". technically correct? sure, but why do they gotta be "right" if the artist intended for the posted outcome???

and if you feel the need to correct an artist, and get mad when they say "that's my style..."

know that what they want to say is "I intended it to look like that, so your opinion is not needed or wanted."

me realizing that when I would defend my art with "that's my style..." was because what i SHOULD have said was "I wanted to draw it like that."

which is valid.

yes, folks can have anatomy issues and shit in art, but it's art. it can be drawn "wrong" and still be right if the artist intended it <3

but in art, style is a thing. people simplify shapes all the time. we know hands don't have 3 fingers, but some artists choose it because:
a. they like it
b. easier to animate for them
c. whatever else reason they have because it's art and you can draw things any which >

does NOT mean that one is right and one is wrong.

what it means is, if you're doing x and it doesn't look right and you're looking for ways to work through it, then this person is offering up a solution that COULD work>

but i'll do you one better: even if it doesn't fit, try tweaking it so it DOES work for you. try not to be so literal about it and think if you don't do it exactly, you'll fail or it won't work.

internet im gonna share with you something that's gonna change your online life for the better:
when you see advice, even if it looks like it's for everyone, assume that person is talking to themselves. assume that advice is for them to remember but they're sharing it in the event it hits for others

Sage, and no one else, owes you to the point of covering every single base and "reaching out" to make it comfy for you. you have to figure out what that means for yourself and not blaming random social media users for not knowing exactly what it is you need
