okay update to my last thing. looking around did some research

Ho-Oh was first revealed in the 1996 August Coro Coro issue on July 15th so that might be a good date. It also puts it around Lugia day (July 17th, the anniversary of pokemon 2000's japanese release)

i tried finding one recently but looking up ho-oh day only gives me pokemon go! and looking it up in japanese (ホウオウの日) is confounded because 'ホウオウ' is just a way to write phoenix in japanese!!
