All those years my Republican father and I argued over politics. Now, 11 years after he’s gone, I was proven correct. It’s a party that never believed in freedom or democracy or a marketplace of ideas. It was just waiting for its moment to steal by force.

Here’s what I feel: If, after this living nightmare, #Democrats STILL can’t win a solid majority in what should be a landslide mid-term, then it’s over. We lost. At some point, you stop trying to patch up something that can’t be fixed.

Well, you have a friend in me, because I’ve done the same. Probably lost >75% of my friends/family over this. Told them history needs to record where people stood, and I want it to show I rejected all of it at every turn. Also told them I couldn’t look them in the eye and pretend to respect them.

I had two very close friends who voted Trump. I ended the friendships.

I also had a progressive friend who didn’t vote at all. I ended the friendship.

I’m so much angrier at the progressive. He knew better. A masters in econ. He’s just a singleminded little bitch always squawking about the DNC.
