Imagine if they remade one of the Final Fantasy games that released between VIII and X.
A flying king is going around kidnapping little girls with deformed ears on the off chance that one is related to this cross dressing woman his master used to know. This one kid decided he's had enough and tries to break into the kidnapper's house to rescue the girls, but is nearly murdered instead.
So this plumber eats mushrooms to fight evil turtles to rescue a princess.

Pirate Yakuza is announced. Majima? Pirates? Hawaii? I’m beyond hyped. Game comes out. Instant disappointment. The pirate aspect is unfun. Game is ugly. Story is dull. Drop for almost a year. Begrudgingly pick it back up. Spend 2 hours batting cannonballs, 15 taking photos in Hawaii. Life is good.

All this time, I’ve been pronouncing “Theatrhythm” as “Theat Rhythm,” as in the first two syllables of “Theater,” followed by “Rhythm.”
It never occurred to me until today that it’s probably just pronounced like “Theater Rhythm.”

It always feels like I’ve played every single game I would potentially consider a favorite. Every “Best games ever“ list or every search for “Games that are similar to…” always result in stuff I’ve already played or have zero interest in. I haven’t played a new game in years that I truly loved.

Did some gaming last night. Couple hours of puzzle-solving in Lufia II, followed by a trek to Merlee’s Mansion in Super Paper Mario.

I just wanna play the Steam Deck with my PS5 controller. When I plug it into the dock by the TV, it works. When I unplug it, it disconnects. When I press the home button, it turns on the PS5. Gotta change the channel to turn off the PS5 from its menu, then change the channel back to the Steam Deck.
I miss when you just plugged things in and they worked.
Trying to figure out how to play local multiplayer on a PS5 or how to get the Steam Deck to do basically anything I want it to makes me feel like a boomer when they have to send a text or attach a file to an email or something.
