The 3DS remake of Dragon Quest VII took over 3 and a half years to leave Japan, and the version we finally got replaced the orchestrated soundtrack with a MIDI version.

We’ve sure come a long way.

I’m eating especially good, because DQVII is one of the last numbered titles I’ve still yet to play (along with VI and X). I’m glad I held off all this time! Might as well be an all-new game for me.

I saw the rumors, but dismissed them as fake.

-The full Erdrick trilogy isn’t even out yet
-DQIII HD2D teased the Zenithian trilogy
-Horii expressed interest in remaking IX
-VII was already remade less than a decade ago

And yet, here it is! And I couldn’t be happier.

Remember that time Dragon Quest III remake came out, then Dragon Quest I & II came out less than a year later, then Dragon Quest VII was announced to come just a few months after that, and also Dragon Quest XII is on the horizon?

That was cool. I really liked that.
