Exactly, ‘theater of war’ means combat zone. Sure, the whole thing addresses military personnel.

But, nonetheless: It’s on YouTube. We see it, the public sees it. No civilian wishes to be near a theatre of war. Especially if your own president sees his enemies mainly as domestic. Tone deaf.

Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) 5,890 followers 5 days ago An exercise of the integrated measurement and information system for monitoring radioactivity in the environment (#IMIS) is currently underway. During the past night, from October 2nd to 3rd, fictional radioactivity data from the exercise was accidentally made visible online due to a technical error. The simulated data from the BfS measuring network (ODL measuring network) suggested elevated ODL values for parts of Northern Germany. The error was rectified promptly. In reality, the measuring network showed no unusual values. ☢️ Fortunately, serious radiological emergencies have been very rare so far. Nevertheless, it is important to practice regularly in order to be prepared for any eventuality. Note: ODL stands for “Ortsdosisleistung” (ambient dose rate), which measures gamma radiation levels in the environment.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
