Brewers gotta go with Misiorowski in Game 5… I think?

Pitcher fielding — sorta important!

Always fascinating to watch managers whittle down their bullpen trust circle in the playoffs and sometimes it gets down to just 1 guy.

Like now for the Phillies.

New "North & South" with @dylanohernandez.bsky.social -- what's up with Ohtani in the playoffs? And why did Shanahan look so loose and McVay so tight in last week's 49ers-Rams matchup?

Shanahan always speaks in the now. He said at this moment he can't compare this team to the 2019 team that made the big trade for what they needed.

But with him and all coaches, that opinion could change

IF the 49ers show it should change.

Jonathan Kuminga’s back after the Warriors and agent Aaron Turner came to an agreement that satisfied both sides. But it sure was a loud summer.

“This was an insane negotiation that was hitting a boiling point”
“Probably won't have a negotiation like that ever again”

Always awesome stuff from this annual poll, and this note got me:

Asked Kyle Shanahan if there are similarities between this situation at 4-1 and in 2019 when 49ers made a go-for-it trade for Emmanuel Sanders.

Shanahan said no, this is different because the '19 team was set up with a Super Bowl-level defense and just needed a WR.

Eddy Piñeiro, 11-for-11 on FG attempts since signing with the 49ers, was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

He made FGs from 20, 37, 41 and 59 yards in win over the L.A. Rams. It's the fourth such honor on his career.

His first real job was as Steve Kerr’s special assistant.

After nine years and six trips with the Warriors, soaking in lessons from Hall of Famers, Nick U’Ren is back in the Finals.

This time, he’s home.

“Those pitches don’t get hit, let alone that high off the foul pole, staying straight for that long.”

Great column from Ken on an amazing October swing by Judge

And earlier: Why did Grisham throw to second base when Guerrero was already there? Fox announcers criticized Chisholm (who wasn't blameless), but it was Bellinger who dropped it and Grisham who apparently forgot there was a runner at third.

Yankees always screw up.

The Yankees are weird. Why didn't Rice go to second base during the rundown?

“Maybe … we’re at the All-Star break and it’s, like, ‘Hey, this is going to keep going, let’s do [an extension],’” Kerr said. “But for right now, let’s just kind of see where this all goes."

Stats aren't surprising if you've watched 2025 49ers, but for a Shanahan team this is wild:

-49ers lead NFL in pass attempts (202), pass yards (1,491) and passing 1st downs (80)

-49ers are only team with 0 rush TDs, T28 in rush yards (426), tied for last in yards per rush (3.1)
