On the principle of “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,” this article fails to reach even a low bar. I mean the article — which I read three times — not just the headline. We can only conclude that the "extraordinary claims require... " principle is not in use for this protagonist.

Unreal. The casual reader of this @nytimes.com hed and subhed will have no inkling whatsoever that Trump's "characterization" is wildly false and that it's a bad faith *pretext.* Time to get better at conveying the fundamentally pretextual nature of these authoritarian decrees already.

Two Washington post news stories with a picture of an obviously unwell Donald Trump basking in sycophancy.

(1) In three-hour televised Cabinet meeting, Trump soaks up praise
In President Donald Trump’s longest on-camera appearance of his second term, Cabinet members heaped praise on the president in a fashion that analysts say resembled assemblies in authoritarian states.

(2) FEMA employees put on leave after criticizing Trump administration in open letter

The funniest thing about this tweet is that he helped elect a president who is banning wind and solar power projects when the entire AI industry is in an electricity crunch.

The leopards are really feasting on faces here.

Incidents happen because people do things that have always worked successfully, up until the incident. Doing something that always worked in the past is completely rational!

Musk is on X complaining about the “Big Beautiful Bill” again and Trump has dismissed him as just being salty because there aren’t EV tax credits in it.

Ironic to spend $250M getting the Leopards Eating Faces Party elected only for them to eat your face.
Trump Flames Musk as Bitter Feud Reignites
The president hit back at the Tesla CEO, who has savaged Republicans’ “big, beautiful” spending bill.
