Great video! It’s always a treat when Pillar analyzes a Benoit Blanc whodunnit, especially one as thematically rich as Wake Up Dead Man.
Ok, here’s the video you all knew I was going to make:

You know you’re in for a good time when you get to learn about Superman AND watch someone who actually knows what they’re talking about dunk on Ben Shapiro!

This is a really interesting discussion about, well, Superman as religious allegory (as you can probably gather from the title), but also about how superhero media evolves (and stagnates) over time. Good stuff from Pillar!

As a fellow trunks defender I am quite glad you uploaded this! Also, I really liked how you implemented the shot through your house and placed the relevant props in the right spots!
Okay fine I uploaded it to YouTube as well but it better get at least a dozen views

I wish Eisenberg was coming back, but I understand why he wouldn’t want to always be associated with Mark Zuckerberg. If you are going to replace him, Jeremy Strong is a really good choice, in my opinion.
Jeremy Strong is the top choice to play Mark Zuckerberg in ‘THE SOCIAL NETWORK 2’, replacing Jesse Eisenberg.

I wouldn’t say I’m completely sold on this movie but I’m a little more interested in it than I was before (still disappointed Fincher isn’t back to direct it though)
Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White are the top choices to star in ‘THE SOCIAL NETWORK 2’

On one hand, it’s bizarre to see eyes from all over the world on New York’s mayoral race. On the other: this is a significant ripple that has the potential to become a tidal wave for US politics. Forgot what optimism felt like. Proud to live in a city where so many cultures meet.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

I can’t say I’m not a little annoyed with how long it’s taking to make a The Batman sequel but I mostly care about it being on par with the first movie, even if it doesn’t come out for a decade.

Also as a fellow slow writer I have no room to complain. It’s gonna be amazing when it’s here, Matt!
James Gunn calls out people who say that ‘THE BATMAN 2’ is cancelled.

“It’s not canceled. We don’t have a script. Matt’s slow. Let him take his time. Let him do what he’s doing. God, people are mean. Let him do his thing, man.”

Can’t say I’m surprised a show this phenomenally good would have a gigantic increase in ratings!
‘ANDOR’ managed to be #1 on Nielsen’s streaming charts during the week of the show’s final episodes

The show was viewed for over 931M minutes overall during that week.

Not to be hyperbolic but this might end up being my favorite movie ever
Robert Eggers is set to write and direct a new ‘A CHRISTMAS CAROL’ movie for Warner Bros.

Willem Dafoe is the top choice to play Ebenezer Scrooge.

I can’t think of a bigger cinephile waste of time than getting defensive on behalf of Wes Anderson, but the way his last few movies have been casually dismissed as self-parody when they’ve done more to shake up his methods and goals than almost any of his first 10 films is irritating.

Absolutely unsurprising given the way James Gunn has always worked but this is still quite cool!
Our last visual effect shot has been finished and dropped into Superman. We are now 100% done. Thanks to all my collaborators!

And for the rest of you - I can’t wait for you to see the movie July 11.

FREE ADVICE: so, there's a filmmaking concept called "business." "Business" is, essentially, the stuff your character does while talking. Fixing a car engine, ice skating, eating an ice cream cone, ducking gunfire. You gotta give your characters "business" so they're not just standing there yappin'.
