Today I joined Honorary Consul
for Japan Kathleen Blakely at the 16th Annual Aki Matsuri Festival. As evidenced by today’s celebrations, Japanese heritage and culture enrich our community #OnlyinDistrictOne and across the country.

Where is Speaker Johnson?

House Democrats are in DC ready to keep the government open and fight for Americans’ healthcare. We have a bill that funds the government and protects healthcare subsidies, ensuring that your premiums do not skyrocket.

House Republicans aren't even here. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve just introduced a bipartisan resolution that recognizes September 27th as National Public Lands Day. The fight to protect these special places for future generations continues. Make sure to visit your favorite National Parks and Monuments tomorrow for free to celebrate!

POTUS has been shutting down the government since he took office with rescissions, mass layoffs, and the BS Republican Budget.

His refusal to work with Democrats to keep the government open is not surprising.

Today is Constitution and Citizenship Day, recognizing 238 years of our Constitution and those who have become American citizens.

We must continue the fight for equity and justice to rightfully reflect the values enshrined in our nation’s guiding document.

Last year, Jia Li and Samuel Kyong were our talented Congressional App Challenge winners for #OnlyinDistrictOne. Li and Kyong were “astonished not only by the work [they] created, but the community it could impact.”

Happy National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! These folks drive our economy forward. I support the Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act, ensuring that our truckers have safe places to park and rest.

Probably my most exciting interview. Robert Redford was a hero on screen and an inspiration in real life working to protect the environment. May he rest in peace.

Thanks to the Republican BS Budget, Americans are especially worried about their healthcare. The proposed partisan CR does nothing to relieve folks of this stress and address increased costs.

This month is National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrating the rich heritage of our Hispanic community in Southern Nevada.

It’s also Mexican Independence Day! To celebrate, check out some of our local spots #OnlyinDistrictOne.

My mother Betty Titus passed away yesterday at the age of 95. She was a proud Southern Democrat and cherished being called Mama Titus by so many of you. Smile when you think of her.

Today we honor those impacted by the 9/11 attacks, including the nearly 3000 lives lost.

We recognize the heroes who served selflessly during this horrible event, and we are grateful every day for our brave law enforcement and emergency response personnel.

I am proud to recognize National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week. We must stand up for our Hispanic community #OnlyinDistrictOne while POTUS attacks these critical institutions of learning and opportunity.

Eighty percent of our transit riders rely on buses to get to work and back. Reliable public transit is critical to both their health and their livelihoods.

I am introducing legislation that will allow RTC of Southern Nevada and other transit agencies to increase the number of spare buses they can put into service during bus breakdowns, including those due to extreme heat.

Now is not the time to add additional fees and requirements that will further discourage international travel to the United States.
titus.house.gov
International travel is down, and now POTUS is implementing a new $250 visa fee. I demand Sec. Noem and POTUS withdraw this policy, especially as we approach the World Cup and Summer Olympics.
