Re-enacting Memory: 2013, Battlefield House, Stoney Creek.

It was pretty miserable that day, and that was just the Sergeant!!!

Giving a recruit a test drive, spot the blue jeans.

Re-enacting Memory: we must have been on a budget!

Or maybe it was a dry February?

No Pub? What were we thinking?

Summer here, our big metric is the humidex. I.e. temperature of 32 feels like 38 ...
February 7, 2026 at 6:25 PM
There is a Toronto joke about homes, and that is put the largest building possible on your lot as it is too cold to go outside in the winter and too hot in the summer!

Ontario is quite large (bigger than France and Spain combined) so there is quite a bit of difference in weather.

Most of the population is in the south (near Toronto) and there it can be quite warm, with at times high humidity which can make it brutal.

Typically between 20 C and 30 C

Re-enacting Memory: come across this photo by Kevin Wolf, titled "The Canadians at Waterloo".

From 2015.

Why does it seem the Sergeant Major is always looking at me?

What did I do now?

Queen's Square!

Looking from approx. the area where the cenotaph is now towards the Main Street Bridge.

I believe the Scott Opera House was the vantage point? Hotel on the left is gone (Queen's Arms Hotel). Church is still there as well as building across from the church just before the bridge

Like the opening moves on a chess board, the action builds as more pieces are moved into place!
